The End of December!!!!!

The Shabby Nest

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family.  I enjoyed time here with my family and later with my sister-in-law and her family in Georgia.  I didn't do any before Christmas post so I decided that I would recap December in this post and show you all what we have done this month.

First KC turned 3 on the 6th.  I can't believe how fast time has flown by.  It seems like she was just born yesterday.  This was bittersweet since she is the baby of the family.  I would love to have more but I don't think it's in God's plan for me so to know that my baby is getting older can bring a tear to my eyes.

We took some pics for our Christmas cards that never happened. This is normally  a time of year I love but this year I am really missing my family which has put a damper on things I want to get done.

We baked cookies and decorated the tree.

We had a birthday party for Jesus with friends and then cleaned the yard of a family who lost their husband and father earlier this year.

We opened presents on Christmas morning then headed to Atlanta to enjoy Stone Mountain with my sister-in-law and family.  The kids played miniature golf, saw shows, rode the train, went tubing and sledding and enjoyed the fireworks show.  We had a blast and by the end of the night KC said "Mommy I'm sleepy".  Needless to say I agreed with her.  We arrived home last night and I'm still pooped.
How was your Christmas?

Beautiful

I don't have any pictures for this post today but I just wanted to come and let everyone (meaning rub it in) know that today in Columbia, SC the high is 84.  I am soooooooooooooooooooooo happy that in November I am wearing a tank top, capris, and flip flops.  It's making me feel like I am at home.  How is the weather where you are?  What are your plans for Thanksgiving?  Will it include family from in or out of town?  My Thanksgiving will include some of my husbands friends families and my mother in law came down from Charleston (shocking!!!!!!!! but a story for another time).  Will you get out on Black Friday?  As for me I love being out in the commotion.  I will be at Wal-Mart to get the good deals on some of the toys.  My 6yr old informed me 1.5 weeks ago that he wants a LeapPad Explorer which I have found that not ONE store has.  I have even called family in other states and no one can find it.  Boy I sure hope I can find it before Christmas.  Well I do have some pics from when we went apple picking with our Classical Conversations group.  So here they are:
My big boy enjoying jumping!!!!!
My KC enjoying jumping also!!!!!
KC measuring up.
What pumpkin will we choose.
LC and his bag of apples.

Needing to vent!!!

I am going through a hard time right now.  I have been unhappy in SC since 2007.  It has become harder and harder every year as my children become older and my husband becomes distant.  A couple of weeks ago he expressed interest in a job back in Ca and had an interview that didn't go the best.  After that he all of a sudden flipped on me and said he wouldn't move back to Ca and I just better get over it basically.  All of my family is in Ca with cousins that are close in age to my children.  I have expressed my unhappiness to him and he seems basically not to care to me.  I have no friends here and have turned into someone, in some ways, that I don't want to be.  Today he basically told me to go ahead and leave because he isn't going anywhere.  I don't want my marriage to end but I also don't to be somewhere that I am unhappy and not at my best.  Since I don't work I also don't have the means at this time to leave which he knows.  I don't know what to do.

It's been a long time!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that I haven't been on here in a while I have been really busy this summer.  I am back in school but most of all you will never believe what has been consuming most of my time.  I will show you in a few what it has been.  I have really missed posting.  I check and read the blogs that I follow but just haven't had the energy to put up post myself.

In addition I have been having a rough time.  To help you understand I have lived in SC for almost six years now.  Instead of it being easier as time goes it has become harder to be so far away from my family.  My kids have cousins their ages and I want them to have those close relationships.  I haven't been home since my baby was 8mths old and she will be 3 in December.  That is a loooooooooooong time for me.  I don't want to bore you with my problem but I needed to say it to some people who may understand since the hubby doesn't know how to respond.  I know he wants me to be happy and if we could up and move right now he would.  It will get better I hope.

Now to show you what I have been up to:

It has been a while since I last posted.  Summer has been good and busy around here.  I finally  just uploaded pics today so I thought I would go ahead and show you some of what has filled our summer days.

Now that summer is almost over we are gearing to begin our first full year of homeschooling.  We will begin before our public schools.  I am looking forward to being responsible for my children's education and having God in their school day.  When do your kids start school and what plans do you have for the end of summer?  Do you do any special projects for the beginning of a new school year.

Well, I haven't posted in a while but I haven't been in the best of moods either.  I do pretty much know why but that would be to long of a post and stuff you really don't want to hear.
Now to my point.  This week was VBS (Vacation Bible School) at my church.  I have worked it every year since I have been at the church and have LOVED it.  I must say that we have an absolutely awesome children's ministry at my church.  Even though we attend a large church the head of the children's ministry still knows the kids and loves each of them.  This year I worked with the babies, crawling to around 14 months, and boy did they keep us busy.  I am always happy for VBS to come but by the end of the week I am POOPED!!!!  And our theme this year was

The kids had fun and even brought home herb plants one day.  So not only learning about Jesus but also adding being healthy to it.  When is your church's VBS?  What is your theme this year?  Do your kids go now or are they to old and went when they were younger?

Next up for us Music Camp, flag football camp, and of course more baseball.
