Step with an R
Ok so we headed to Fayetville,NC on yesterday to spend the weekend with a friend of my husbands. Believe it or not the trip is so JC, my 7yr old, can practice baseball at an indoor center since we don't have anything in our neck of the woods. When I get LC, the 5 yr old, in the tub last night a rash that just started on his nose was now covering him from head to toe. I was shocked and thought of what a friend said her son had when he had strep. So I took him to the urgent care this morning and of course he has STREP!!! He seems to be the child that gets all the symptoms that I never heard of when he has something. He had a temp of 100.3 but it hadn't stopped him at all. He has been playing non stop with an occasional complaint of itching. He definitely is my child who never stops and although it wears me out I am thankful that God has put him in my family to teach us. I see the great qualities that he has been blessed with that he just doesn't know how to handle at this time. It's a joy to watch him grow. Now off to give another dose of Amoxicillin.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To me that is and I guess hubby also. Well as you know I have made it my resolution this year to get my house decorated. I have started some things and am proud of myself. I have painted KC's room, all by myself, and added things here and there. I need to focus on one room at a time but for some reason my adult ADD I can't seem to do it so I am jumping from room to room so that is why I am showing you some pictures of more than one room. Now remember hubby and I have never been DIY'ers so doing things in our house is a major accomplishment. Sorry for the way the pics are. I seem to be having trouble with my camera that I can't seem to solve.
I added shelves to the entry way and a pop of Valentine's. The glass on the top shelf has Love in different fonts on it. I have some other things to take the place of the Valentine's stuff for later. |

Small starts
As I have previously stated this is my year that I will begin to decorate my house. I have been inspired by so many of the bloggers that I have encountered that it has made me decide to do some DIY and decorating myself. So since I have to take baby steps I thought I would share some of the things that I have purchased for my home.
So now that I have shown you some beginnings I can't wait to show you the progress. I am nervous but hopefully I will do a good job. So cross your fingers and keep checking back for more progress.
Found these things at a consignment sale. The white 2 shelves for KC and the wood one I will paint. The star is for the boys room which I will also paint. |
Lamps from TJ Maxx on clearance for my room. |
2 Drapery panels from TJ Maxx also on clearance for $5.00 a panel SCORE!!!!! |
Things for boys room. Sailing will be painted. |
Things for lil miss KC's room. I plan on painting her room a shade of yellow. What do you think? |
Found at Goodwill for $1.00. |

Shoes Anyone
Ok so we were in Charleston this weekend. On Saturday my mother-in-law decides to take the boys to Chuck E Cheese. YAAAAAAAAAAY!!! and I didn't even have to go. I decided I would head to the outlets, what fun, for a little shopping and hubby would go with his cousin. Low and behold I get a phone call while at the outlets from my husband telling me to buy LC, the youngest boy, some shoes. I wonder and ultimately ask why. To my surprise I was told that his shoes were STOLEN at Chuck E Cheese. Say it isn't so not the place "where a thief kid can be a kid". Needless to say I was shocked that my son now had to leave and go without shoes until I picked him up from grandma. All the staff told my MIL was sorry. Well at least I had the funds to purchase my son shoes so for that I am thankful to the Lord.

Home Goals 2011
Ok well I am joining the home goals party. I think that if I have my goals out for everyone in blog world to read maybe I will get some of them done. I don't have pictures for everything, just the boys room right now, but as time goes I will be sure to post the before & afters.
1. Get new family room furniture and finish the room
2. add backsplash and cabinet knobs and pulls to kitchen
3. finish boy's room
4. finish KC's big girl room
5. redo nieces room (she has moved into her own apt closer to college now)
6. finish playroom
7. finish master bed and bathroom
8. DECORATE, DECORATE, DECORATE
Do you notice a trend here with the word FINISH. Well I have startedalmost everything with paint but just can't seem to get anything else done. I started this blog to get some ideas and inspiration from all the great homes and I have. So now I am aiming to make this house a home. Since I'm not one for luck just hope that I do my best.

Snow Maybe!!
Well only in South Carolina would school already be cancelled for tomorrow and there isn't even ONE drop of snow on the ground. I don't think they close down schools in let's say Chicago before the weather hits LOL. Now I am all happy about having the kids home tomorrow and not having to go out in the cold. I even went to Kroger today and the parking lot was full and inside there were droves of people stocking up on things like this will be a week long storm. I felt like I should have a basket full of food myself. Well I hope this storm isn't to bad since I'm not to sure if I can stay inside for to long with three rambunctious wonderful kids. I guess we'll just have to wait and see but until then if you want a free day for weather that hasn't even hit then move to SC.

Filling anyone!!
Well yesterday was dentist day for the 3 C kids. I was a little nervous about KC but she handled it great. She got a little apprehensive but once I talked to her she was just fine. JC had a good report but once again we were told he would need braces. Geesh he's only 7 so can't you refrain from telling me that for a little while. Now to LC whose report wasn't so great. He has two cavities and I am not looking forward to having them filled and neither is he. He just stopped crying over x-rays last year and now not only 1 but 2 fillings. That day may just be a day for daddy to go to the dentist. I must say I am thankful for insurance because the cost without it wouldn't be pretty.
I am also on the hunt for paint for KC's big girl room along with things to complete the boys room. The quilts I want are on salebut still not low enough so I may have to bight the bullet and buy them. Don't forget to check out pics of the boys room and post any ideas you may have.
